Alan Faigal is an educator, dancer and community animator who teaches for Toronto Met University’s Early Childhood Studies Program and Sheridan College’s Theatre and Drama Studies Program. Pedagogy centers on family support, holistic practices and social justice. His mentorship of practicum students includes the cultivation of self and innovation. He has also supported International Students as a Learning Strategist at Toronto Met University’s International University Foundation Program.
He is currently the Interim Group Fitness Coordinator at Toronto Met University’s Recreation and Athletics Centre and teaches for Sheridan College’s Theatre and Drama Studies – joint program with University of Toronto (Mississauga) UTM.
Alan has designed and delivered keynotes and professional development sessions for early childhood educators as well as drama/dance educators in the areas of authentic leadership, conflict resolution, equity/inclusion, public speaking and wellness.
Alan also serves as a Community Dance Animator for Culture Shock Canada, in that role he has designed and implemented community dance programs for ages 2.5 to 18yrs all across Southern Ontario. He has designed and delivered various professional development workshops to a wide range of educators and interdisciplinary fields.
Alan has been a movement specialist in the fitness/wellness industry for over 23 years. As a former canfitpro PRO trainer, he taught and certified group fitness instructors in various disciplines. Accessibility and inclusivity are key core values that inform his career.
